Google used to just report the average position at which your site’s pages appeared in the search results for a particular query. Now users can click on a given search query to see a breakdown of the number of impressions (number of times your site’s pages appeared in the results for the query), as well as the amount of clickthrough (number of times searchers clicked on that query’s search results to visit a page from your site) for each position your site’s pages appeared at in the results associated with that query. Google also shows a list of your site’s pages that were linked to from the search results for that search query.

Regularly check backlinks as part of your linkbuilding strategy
If you are beginning on the thorny path of reciprocal link building, then using certain software or service applications online that will help you test the incoming links faster would be a good idea. You need to be running regular checks of all your incoming links to confirm that the other webmasters or blogger haven’t concealed or removed your links and that they haven’t implemented any tricks that will hide your link from the search engines.
Ideally you’d need to use a software program that checks the links with a click of a button. With so many links to check it’d be next to impossible to do it manually. A good software will operate these necessary checks against each anticipated link, permit you to inspect the links, and then list them in a categorized way.
I recommend using Backlinkwatch.com for this job. It checks whether your links are dead or active, whether they have been nofollowed or not, or what your links are using as anchor text. It also lists the URL of the page where your backlink can be found so you can check it out yourself. And the best of all, it’s free!
