One of the most overrated factors in the world of search engine optimization is the value of PageRank. According to most expert articles about SEO, a site’s page ranking holds great importance especially when one wants to make a lot of money online. It is because your page rank entails not just your popularity as a website following a certain niche, but as your site’s substance and functionality in catering to your audience’s needs.

There are many views and opinions that revolve around the value of pagerank. While a lot of people rely on their pagerank to track the performance of their business, some experts meanwhile say that PR is just one of those SEO myths that only help boost competition among different websites. Choose The Right Search Engine For Your Needs

Posted by on Internet, seo tips

The Internet has made it ideal for anyone to research, look up, investigate, or even purchase anything desired. By now the majority of the planet is familiar with the term search engine. Most of us even have a favorite search engine we make use of on a daily basis. I have a preferenec for Google my self. A variety of these Internet helpers are simple to use and free. Whether it be Yahoo.com, Lycos.com, or Askjeeves.com, the searches hold endless results.

When trying to decide on a search engine, it is good to do some routine browsing on Search Engine Optimization. Simply type in a sport, object, or hobby of your preference and do a search. Try it under a number of search engines. In fact, look up a variety of things. This way you will get a good idea of which search engine covers the best or most desirable results.

Back in college, I have used a broad range of search tools online (i.e. Yahoo!, directory listings) to find school-related topics for my term papers. Eventually I came to trust Google’s search results in giving me what I was exactly looking for. We all are in need of different things, and sometimes rare ones.

Here’s something I didn’t know…

Posted by malditangpinay on SEO Goddess, seo tips

internal linking strategiesI was just over at HannibalKing’s blog, The Repository. He has an interesting post there on Six Internal Linking Strategies to get to the top of the Google SERPs.

The first tactic listed wasn’t that unusual. I already knew that, I thought. But the second one is something I haven’t considered. Using the rel=”nofollow” attribute to distribute Page Rank? Whoa! It’s nothing but brilliant!

Yes, I very much agree Page Rank leaked from a strong homepage should be effectively distributed to more important inner pages, especially when there is a high probability an increase in traffic will be gained when deep linking these pages. Inner pages such as sitemaps or link directories, or even sign-up forms shouldn’t suck too much of that precious PR juice from more worthy pages.

Also, from the list which HannibalKing posted, number Five is another hitherto unthought of proposition. Using the same rel=”nofollow” attribute inner pages can be prevented from lending PR value on the word “home” pointing to the site’s homepage. In effect, these internal pages receive a one way link from the homepage and do not reciprocate the favor. This one way internal linking strengthens your site’s inner pages’ Page Rank. Moreover, this tactic does not diminishes the Page Rank strength of the website’s homepage. The backlinks’ PR goodness pouring into the homepage are enough to hold it up against succeeding PR updates from Google.
