How does blogging and deep linking correlate with each other? Well, in order to have a successful home based business you must generate a constant stream of targeted traffic to your blog. This can be done in many different ways by focusing on the page rank of your blogs front page to reel people in. There is one method that is extremely effective and overlooked by most bloggers, the importance of deep linking.

A “deep link” is a link that goes to another page on your blog, not your blogs front page.It can be so easy to focus all of your attention on your home page, but you want to disperse your traffic throughout your entire web site if at all possible. After all, many times it is the pages within your home page that will generate the majority of your revenue.

With deep linking, you want to build credibility and importance to the internal links of your web site. It is great getting people to your home page, but this does not put them where they can make a purchase always. If you have a number of critical internal links you want to make money from, why not send them to that right away? The easier you make things for your visitors the more they will appreciate you, and the more money you will make.

Self-Linking Ethics

With time constraints from work, I rarely visit the blogs of prominent SEO experts. I would have loved to read their latest posts, but unfortunately, I simply don’t have the luxury of time. To compensate, I usually get my SEO news through email.

The good thing about receiving SEO updates through email is getting the most noteworthy ones only. I can avoid the noise of too many voices wanting to be heard. I only get the most worthwhile ones, like Tim O’Reilly’s for instance.
