First Impressions: Oh Samurai Girls!

I've been watching animes ever since 6th grade when I became infatuated with Zenki's full adult form. However, this is the first time I'm writing about an anime series I'm following. The adult visual novel, Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai (Oh Samurai Girls), came out in 2009, but was recently released as an anime this month, October 2011. I haven't read the novel/manga yet, but based on a couple of episodes I've seen so far, the anime is a harem-type series with one guy (Yamato) being the object of affection by a group of ass-kicking girls from a Samurai Academy they all go to.

I say, the anime is fast-paced and riddled with engaging dialogue. It opens with a bang with an all-out class war between Class 2-S and Class 2-F in some remote area. The underlings won, of course, but it's a great introduction of major and minor characters. The first episode also establishes the relationships between the characters and their main goals. All in all, the fight scenes were pretty impressive, plus the dialogues weren't mushy, and the characterizations were solid.
